Homer L. Springer

Timber Lake, SD

1939-40, 791, Lightning Creek, F-14, Field Ass't Leader

Funeral services for Homer Springer, 61, rancher-farmer, were April 27 in United Parish of TL. He passed away April 23 in Aberdeen hospital. He had been hospitalized for 2 weeks with abdominal cancer.

Rev J E Coates officiated. Burial in TL cemetery. Casketbearers: Harry Hodgman, John Singer, Allen Hellesund, Herman Kraft, Emil Biegler, Lloyd Kjellsen. Kesling FH in charge of arrangements.

Homer Springer was born Aug 26, 1917, at Cheyenne Agency, the son of Ray and Beatrice VanderVeer Springer. He lived on a farm with his parents east of TL. He purchased and operated the local theater for several years.

He is survived by his father: Ray Springer of TL; two sisters: Mathel (Vallie) Jaeger of Miles City, MT; Avanelle (Martin) Erickson of TL; several nephews, 1 niece.

He was preceded in death by his mother in 1956, two brothers: Richard and Arbie.
