August F. Millim

Webster, SD

1938, 793, Sheridan, F-24,

The funeral for August F. Millim, 68, Webster, will be at 2 p.m. today at United Methodist Church in Webster. The Rev. Donald Rahn will officiate. Burial will be in Webster Cemetery under the direction of Fiksdal Funeral Service, Webster.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. today and at the church preceding the service.

He died Sunday, March 20, 1988, at St. Luke's Hospital in Aberdeen.

August F. Millim was born Dec. 8, 1919, to John and Anna (Sauer) Millim, at Andover. When he was young, he moved with his mother to a farm west of Webster and attended Akerson Rural School.

He worked for farmers in the area and later worked with the Civilian Conservation Corps in the Black Hills. He later returned to Webster and farmed.

On Oct. 30, 1942, he married Pearl Bolland in Webster. He continued to farm, operated a gravel truck and also worked at Batie Implement in Webster. For 26 years, he worked at Dakota Granite Co. in Milbank. In 1983 he retired but continued to farm until poor health forced him to retire completely.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, Roger, Webster; Jerry, Groton; James, Rapid City; and Daniel, Big Stone City; one daughter, Mrs. Wayne (Marilyn) Williamson, Alvin, Texas; one brother, Emil, Prosser, Wash.; four sisters, Mrs. Harlan (Marie) Storley, Aberdeen; Mrs. Tom (Augusta) Olson, Webster; and Mrs. Edward (Emma) Olson and Mrs. Esther Olson, both of Everett, Wash.; and 14 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two infant children.
