Fred Delzer was a member of the NACCCA (National Association of Civilian Conservation Corps Alumni) in the Kern River Chapter #20 - Bakersfield, California. Fred served from early 1934 to late 1935 and was a member of Company 2751 assigned to Squad #5. He often talked about his time that was spent clearing trails at Mount Rushmore in South Dakota and camp life, such as his first camp boxing match where he broke his nose and the early morning roll calls in South Dakota's famously cold winters; these were just a couple of many fond memories of his time in the CCC camps.

Fred also worked in the following sites, Harvey Peak Lookout, Pig Tail Bridge, Horse Shoe Canyon, Balance Rock and Sylvan Lake.
