Lyle J. Church

Watertown, SD

1934, 791, Lightning Creek, F-14,

The following was shared with the CCC Museum of South Dakota by Richard Church.

My father, Lyle J. Church, served in the CCC. He always spoke positively about his time in the CCC.....believe it was in the Rapid City, South Dakota area. He later went on to serve in the US Army Air Corps in WWII with the 5th Air Force in New Guinea. Injured in the crash of a reconnaissance plane in the New Guinea jungle. Rescued by missionaries and spent the next year in military hospitals. Medically discharged and returned to South Dakota.

Do you have additional information about Lyle Church

We would like to included it. Please write or email us at History "at" SouthDakotaCCC "dot" org.
