Zachary T. Calhoun

Below is from the Camp Newspaper The Chanticleer dated April 1939.

Zachary T. Calhoun, Jr. enrolled July 1, 1933, in Co. V-1781 at Camp Pike, Arkansas. On July 10, 1933 he was transferred to Morrilton, Arkansas where he served as clerk in the Park Service. On June 27, 1935, he was transferred to Co. V-3799 at Pocahontas where he was rated as leader in the field and also SCS clerk. On April 1, 1936 he was transferred to Co. V-3799 at Walcott, Ark., where he was rated as senior leader. On July 6, 1937, he was transferred to Co. V-3798 at Magnolia, Arkansas where he was company clerk and assistant educational adviser. On Dec. 16, 1937 he was transferred again to his original company, V-1781, located at Damascus, Arkansas, and from there July 23, 1938 with fifty-three other enrollees he was transferred to Co. V-4725 at Huron, where he is now rated as a leader and foreman of a construction.
