John William Malone

It is not know exactly where or in what capacity John Williiam Malone served in the CCC. He is remembered and recognized in a reunion photo but details are unknown at this time.

John William Malone, born October 28th, 1922, in Wichita Falls, Texas, went home to be with the Lord on January 1st, 2019, in Rapid City, SD. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Mae Malone, on April 19th, 2006. They were married for over 63 years. He was also preceded in death by all seven of his siblings, and a grandson.

John was a member of the 103rd Infantry, Cactus Division and WW2 Veteran. He was the recipient of two purple hearts!

John was a member of Rapid Valley Baptist Church for nearly 50 years, where he served in several areas of ministry and was an ordained Deacon from 1991 until his passing.

He was an avid bowler and was awarded the Pioneer Award for continuing to bowl consistently at the age of 92.

He is survived by his Daughter, Joyce Locklear of Rapid City, SD, three grand-daughters, Pam Price and Tina Tackett of Box Elder, SD, and Debbie Stephens of Oakdale, CA, along with 8 great grand-children, and 14 great-great grandchildren. He was very proud to represent 5 generations.

Kirk Funeral Home 1051 E. Minnesota St., Rapid City, SD is handling arrangements.

A burial service at the Black Hills National Cemetery, 20901 Pleasant Valley Dr., in Sturgis, SD.
