In the passing of time, each man must meet his fate. Whether rich, poor, weak, strong, loved, hated, good or bad, each man must and will receive his just reward.

At Cherryvale, KS on July 23rd, 1920, a, son, Ora Edward Jones, was born to Roy and Gertrude Jones.

At the age of 16 years, Ora graduated from the Lincoln grade school at Cherryvale where he was very active in outdoor sports and made himself well liked by his witticisms as-well as his helpful, cooperative and friendly spirit.

On April 11th, 1938 Ora enrolled in the Civilian Conservation Corps at Neodesha, KS. He was immediately transferred to Fort Leavenworth, KS and from there to Co. 4767 CCC at Port Angeles, WA. After being stationed there for three months he was returned to Fort Leavenworth and hence to Co. 762, Camp Doran at Custer South Dakota on July 13th, 1938. During the 6 months and 23 days that Ora was stationed at this camp he worked his way into the hearts and affections of each and every man with whom he came in contact. He was very active in sports and a great asset to the camp football team. He is participated in the most practical of educational activities and was known as one of the best workers in Co. 762.

On January 28th, 1939, Ora became afflicted with diphtheria and after 13 days of illness, he passed away early on the morning of February 11th, 1939 in the Sub-District base hospital at Fort Meade, South Dakota.

Besides his family, Ora leaves to mourn his loss, a large host of friends that he has made during his 18 years of a very worthwhile life.
