Leroy Yoder (Roy)

Leroy Yoder was born Feb. 5, 1917, to Amos and Mary (Byler) Yoder in Littlefield, Texas. He died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 1989, at Americana Healthcare Center. As a small child, he moved with his family to Canada, where they lived for three years. They later moved to a farm near Aberdeen in Mercier Township. He attended school in that area. He attended the state agricultural college in Brookings for one year. In the 1930s, he worked in the Civilian Conservation Corps program in the Black Hills. He returned to the farm near Aberdeen. He retired from farming in 1983. He was an antique collector for several years.
