Clarence Lavern Berndt

Avon, SD

1941, 2765, Ft. Meade, SCS-6,

Mr. Clarence L. Berndt, age 80, passed away Monday. November 18, 2004. He was born near Avon, SD to Rudolph and Emma (Pritzkau) Berndt on April 29, 1924. He married Ruth Blaha in 1948.

Surviving are his children Cindy (Joe Rademaker) Sanderson, Dennis (Linda) Berndt, Gary Berndt, Doug (Robin) Berndt, Mark (Kathy) Berndt, David (Deborah) Berndt; grandchildren, Kate-Melynda, Spencer-John, Samuel-Hunter, Kyle, Michael, Katrina and Christopher and one sister, Alice Verzani of Delmont, SD.

He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth in 1983, one infant son, his parents and six brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services were held at the Stegenga Funeral Chapel in Grand Rapids, MI with interment at the Resurrection Cemetery.

Memorial contributions were made in the Grand Rapid Home for Veterans Alzheimer's Unit.

Clarence was one of 4 brothers who served in the CCC.
