Bernard Wayne Limoges, 85, of Sioux City died Tuesday, May 11, 2004, in Sioux City. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with the Rev. Craig Collison officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, Jefferson, S.D. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., a rosary at 6:30 p.m. and a parish vigil service at 7 p.m., all at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Christy-Smith Berkemier Chapel.

Mr. Limoges was born July 30, 1918, in Vermillion, S.D., the son of Elmer and Alzada (Papin) Limoges. He was raised in Vermillion and attended Saginaw School in South Dakota. He lived in the Vermillion area for about 20 years, then moved to Meckling, S.D. for three years and later moved to Hurley, S.D.

He married Dorothy Hebert on Aug. 19, 1940, in Jefferson, S.D. The couple moved to Sioux City in 1953. He worked as a farmer, at the Sears Farm Store, as a custodian for the Cathedral of the Epiphany for 15 years and as a custodian for the Sioux City Public Library for 13 years. He worked part-time for many years as an auctioneer for A.P. Idso.

He attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church. His passions included, hard work, the love of his family and grandchildren, gardening and repairing small engines.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Limoges of Sioux City; eight children and their spouses, Larry and Dianne Limoges of Sioux City, Rodney and Cheri Limoges of Sioux Falls, S.D., Dale and Darlene Limoges of Granger, Iowa, Barbara (Limoges) and Gene Loreth of Sioux City, Randy and Judy Limoges of Sioux City, Tim and Becky Limoges of Sioux City, Scott and Patty Limoges of Salix, Iowa, and Todd and Tammy Limoges of Lewisville, Texas; 27 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and a brother and his wife, Lyle and Ann Limoges of Azusa, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Francis Moritz; and his stepfather.
