Maxine's Christmas Card

Mazine's CCC Christmas Card

A Christmas postcard was found glued in a scrapbook. On the front near the bottom were the words "To Maxine From Stanley" but because it was glued the back of the card could not be viewed. This Civilian Conservation Corps card is believed to be from 1934 because of information on other photos found in the scrapbook.

The 2016 museum Christmas card was inspired by this postcard found in late November. The cards are available at the CCC Museum of South Dakota.

Who are Maxine and Stanley? The card was most likely from a man (Stanley) enrolled in a South Dakota CCC camp. Where was Maxine from? Are there more CCC Christmas cards out there? If you have one or if you see one by all means share it.
