Col Harold Lee Evensizer was born April 2, 1913 in Cando, North Dakota. He died September 12, 2006 (aged 93) Fairfield, Solano County, California, USA.
Lt. Col. Harold L. Evensizer, formerly of Cando, has been awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal for his accomplishments in the Inspector General's office, of the Military Air Transport Service (MATS).
Col. Evensizer, in charge of review and analysis for the Inspector General's office at MATS headquarters, was praised for his thorough knowledge in his field. The citation read in part, "His timely and practical solution to pending problem areas, coupled with outstanding tact and diplomacy, resulted in major improvements within the units inspected."
A graduate of Cando High School, the colonel also studied at the University of Maryland.
A veteran of 27 years military service, he served overseas in the Southwest Pacific area and the Northeast Air command. His decorations include the Combat Infantry Badge.
The colonel is married to the former Ottilia Bauer of Ashley, and they have two children, Terrence, 23, and Patricia, 19.
