Aberdeen - The funeral for Albert Stabler, 80, of Aberdeen, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Zion Lutheran Church, 1732 S. Main St. The Rev. Dennis Hansen will officiate.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Miller-Huebl Funeral Home, 1111 S. Main St., in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be from 9 am. To 9 p.m. today, and from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday at the funeral home. There will also be visitation for one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.
He died Sunday, March 23, 1997, at 51. Luke's Midland Regional Medical Center.
Albert Stabler was born April 2, 1916, to John and Christina (Holzworth) Stabler near Eureka in McPherson County. He received his education in McPherson County. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corp from 1936 to 1937 in the Black Hills. He returned to the Eureka area and worked on various farms.
He married Eva Schmidt on June 28, 1942, in Eureka. They farmed in the Eureka area until 1992, when they moved to Aberdeen.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. He enjoyed woodworking.
Survivors include his wife, of Aberdeen; one daughter, JoAnne (Arnie) Mehlhoff of Aberdeen; two sisters, Erna Gross of Aberdeen, and Ella Meidinger of Watertown; two grandsons; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and one sister.
Casketbearers will be Byron Gross, Gerald Gab and Kenneth Gab, all of Aberdeen, Jim Meidinger of Watertown, Stanley Stabler of Eureka, and Duane Stabler of Savage, Minn.
