C. E. Sinclair, a native of Sturgis, has been at sub-district headquarters for the past six years and is well acquainted with the CCC and the people of this vicinity. Mr. Sinclair was born in Sturgis, S. Dak., on April 20, 1892, and completed his high school education there. After graduation he traveled for two years and then ran for county office in Meade county. He was elected and served for eight years. He also served in the U. S. Army during the World War.
His connection with the CCC began in 1935 when he received a position as chief clerk, District QM, Fort Meade, S. Dak. With the removal of district headquarters from Fort Meade to Fort Lincoln, he was appointed chief clerk in sub-district headquarters. He held this position from February 1936, until January of 1941, when he was promoted to assistant district quartermaster, the position he now holds.
Although not all of the enrollees come into contact with Mr. Sinclair, those who do know him as a very fine fellow.
