Loenard William Kuck

Centerville, SD

1935, 1790, Camp Rochford, F-5 Member

Leonard W Kuck was born in Marcus, IA on December 11, 1911. The family later moved to Centerville, South Dakota. Leonard signed up for the Civilian Conservation Corps on April 24, 1935 and served with Company 1790, Camp Rochford, F-5.

Leonard W.Kuck's son, Leonard P Kuck, had visited the CCC Museum of South Dakota and discovered that his father's name was not listed on the roster of men that served in the state. A museum volunteer suggested that he write to the National Archive in St. Louis, MO to see if any information was available. Forms are always available at the CCC Museum of South Dakota and new information arrives because of these inquiries.

Mr. Kuck submitted the form to National Archives and received copies of Leonard W. Kuck's individual records. We are very pleased that on November 14, 2016 Leonard P Kuck returned to the museum with those records. His father has now been included on the roster of men who served in South Dakota Civilian Conservatin Corps.
