Delbert W. Miller, Bonilla, died suddenly in St. John’s Hospital at the age of 53 years, 4 months, and 14 days. Memorial services were held in the Bonilla Presbyterian Church on March 26th, with Welter Funeral Home of Huron, in charge arrangements. Delbert was born and raised in Bonilla township, the son of John and Madge (Seeley) Miller. He married Louise Ingeborg Hansen, June 1, 1940, at Plankinton, Aurora, SD. She had been a school teacher in the Bonilla area. Louise passed away in 1943, after giving birth to one son. On June 2, 1945, Delbert and Ruby Galliger were married at Bonilla. They farmed until the fall of 1948, when they moved into Bonilla, where Delbert worked as school custodian and bus driver for 15 years.
Delbert was a member of the Presbyterian Church and served as a trustee. He also served as clerk of the township board.
Survivors include his widow Ruby; one grown son of Winner, SD; one daughter and one son at home; four brothers, Harry of Bonilla; Howard of Moville, Iowa; Darold of Lawton, Iowa; Lester of Seattle, WA. Delbert was preceded in death by his first wife Louise and his parents.
